As there has been no call for an election to fill the Casual Vacancy as one of the Councillors for the Parish Central Ward following the resignation of Former Councillor Stacey Brown, the co-option process has today been instigated.

Any person interested in becoming a Wilmington Parish Councillor is invited to request an Expression of Interest Form by e-mailing [email protected]. When completed the Form should be returned to the Clerk to the Council by 21st August 2026 for consideration at the Meeting of the Council to be held on 2nd September 2026.

To be elegible you must -

  • be at least 18 years old
  • be British or Commonwealth citizen or a qualifying EU citizen or an EU citizen with reserved rights
  • meet one of the following four qualifications
  1. You are and will continue to be a local government elector for the Central Parish Ward
  2. Occupy as owner or gtenant any land or other premises in the Central Parish Ward for at least a year
  3. You have lived in the Central Parish Ward or within 3 miles of it for a year
  4. Your main or only place of work during the previous year has been in the Central Parish Ward
