Although not achieving the Gold awarded to the Parish in each of the past two years, the Council was pleased to be awarded Silver Gilt in this year's Competition in the 'Parishes in Bloom' category.

In reaching his decision the Judge commended the Council on its diligence in providing 'working, effective and accessible' open spaces and facilities for residents. The Judge also felt that the Council took into account access to sport, nature and leisure activities and gave credit to Mark, the Parish Groundsman, in achieving this.

The Judge did however believe there to be scope for the Council to engage with residents, community/environmental/social or educational groups in promoting bio-diversity; improving the environment and encouranging the planting of native plants, trees and shrubs.

The Council welcomes any ideas as to how this can be taken forward in the hope that by so doing the Parish's Gold Standard can be restored in 2027!!
