Background - The Parish Council gratefully accepted Dartford Borough Council's (DBC) offer to fund and mange the installation in Chestnut Grove of a new Multiplay facility adjacent to the existing play equipment. As part of the package the existing equipment would be refurbished. The acceptance was based on the benefit it would bring to the residents of Joydens Wood and the fact that it would cost Precept and ratepayers nothing

Statement from Councillor David Mann - Chairman of the Parish Council - The Parish Council received detailed plans of the new multiplay equipment but not its location until after work had started. Once the location was known and following an immediate site visit the Council ordered the work stopped and a consultation was undertaken. There was significant support for the project but there were objections from residents living close to the original siting of the new multiplay area which the Council accepted.
Consequently, in negotiations with DBC the proposed multiplay area has been sited on the opposite of the existing facility as shown on the attached plan and further from the closest properties in Chestnut Grove while minimising the impact on the open field. The work on the project will resume following the contractor’s rescheduling and the date will be published once known.
