The Parish Council sets aside a small sum of money each year to donate to good causes in the Parish in the form of either a grant or donation. The sum allocated is part of the annual Precept the Council collects from the electorate and is available annually from 1st April.

The Council is governed by the rules set out in Section 137 of the Local Government Act 1972 which states that the money must be spect on purposes for the direct benefit of the Parish and be commensurate with the expenditure incurred. Contributions may be made to Charities and bodies providing a public service on a non-profit making basis but only in furtherance of their work in the United Kingdom and being of benefit to residents of the Parish.

Applications will be accepted throughout the financial year from individuals (on behalf of a group) or not for profit community groups where the grant or donation sought will provide a direct benefit to residents of the Parish of Wilmington.

Any grant of donation should seek at align with the Parish Council's Community Pillars of -

  • Environment
  • Quality of Life

Applications are invited for consideration at the Meeting of the Council to be held on 2nd July 2025 and must be received by 30th June 2025.
