The wild flower meadow in Oakfield Park, planted as part of the Queen's Green Canopy project, is in full bloom making an attractive splash of colour.in the area adjacent to St Michael and All Saints' Lower Churchyard.

Visitors to the Park today will have been disappointed to see the felling of one of the Sycamore trees that separated the two grassed areas. The Parish Council only undertakes such drastic action where a report from one of the regular Tree Surveys deems it to be necessary; in this instance the base of the tree was found to be rotted and, had the action not have been taken, the tree would have been liable to fall without any prior warning. Further work is to be undertaken next month to reduce the crown of the 'leaning' Pine tree which is causing the fibre at the base to buckle; the crown reduction will ease the pressure to hopefully avoid further damage that could lead to this tree also having to be felled.

Finally, a reminder that the gate allowing vehicular access to the Park from Carsington Gardens can be closed at any time from 8:00pm, any vehicle remaining in the Park after the gates have been closed will not be released until the following morning unless contact is made with the Security Company. There will, be a charge payable to the Company for the early release of the vehicle
